Frequently Asked Questions

Why was Carolina 24/7 Started?
StickWithUs and Team 24/7 Lacrosse partnered to develop the Carolina 24/7 National Team program as a way to give the best High School players in this region an opportunity to train and compete at the highest level.

Who is running the Carolina 24/7 teams?
Mike Desmond and StickWithUs/Team Carolina will handle all program administration while Ryan Flanagan of Team 24/7 Lacrosse will direct the program and handle all on-field operations.

Why will this benefit my son and lacrosse in the area?
Our goal with starting the Carolina 24/7 teams was to create the highest-level teams in the region. We believe that this partnership will allow us to create teams that can consistently compete at the strongest tournaments and against the best teams in the country. In doing this, we will be able to elevate lacrosse in the area and we believe it will increase the recruiting opportunities available to our players. The ultimate goal of the venture is to showcase the best individual talent and teams in one centralized premium program that will represent the region on the national stage and in the college recruiting landscape.

The program also allows us to create a more competitive training environment for players throughout the year. We are breaking down any barriers where players may feel like they must choose one club or another. In combining our teams at the high school level, we will be creating opportunities for our players to train and compete at the highest level year-round.

Who are the Carolina 24/7 teams for?
The Carolina 24/7 teams are open to 2020, 2021 and 2022 graduates in the summer of 2019.

When are tryouts?
December 1st for the 2020s and 2021s and December 8th for 2022s.   Advanced registration is required and can be found here: https://stickwithus.sportngin.com/register/form/223668144

What if I can not make the tryout date or I  already tried out for Team Carolina in August & I cannot make the new dates? All candidates MUST attend the new tryout dates.  Exceptions are discouraged and handled on an individual basis.  If you have a legitimate reason to miss and are unable to attend we will use notes from your summer staff, your August tryout notes from the college coaches and your performance this fall as your evaluation and team placement.

How many teams will there be?
In 2019, Carolina 24/7 will field the following teams:
2020 Blue and 2020 Red
2021 Blue and 2021 Red
2022 Blue and 2022 Red
All teams will train together, have access to our entire coaching staff, and attend the same events in the summer and in the fall.

Who will coach the Carolina 24/7 teams?
Carolina 24/7 teams will be coached by coaches from both Team Carolina and Team 24/7 Lacrosse.

What if I don’t currently play for Team Carolina or Team 24/7 Lacrosse?
We want the best lacrosse players at 2020, 2021 and 2022, period. Prior club affiliations are not important.

My son is in middle school and wants to play for Carolina 24/7, what should he do? The best route to a Carolina 24/7 team in the future is to begin playing with Team Carolina or Team 24/7 Lacrosse as soon as possible. We believe that working with coaches at either program is the best way to prepare for making a Carolina 24/7 team in the future.

How will this impact my son who is not in the affected age groups and currently plays for Team Carolina or Team 24/7 Lacrosse?
This will not have any impact on players that currently play for a youth team at Team Carolina or Team 24/7 Lacrosse. They are in a great position to develop their game working towards a future opportunity with a Carolina 24/7 team.

Did StickWithUs/Team Carolina buy Team 24/7 Lacrosse?
No. StickWithUs/Team Carolina and Team 24/7 Lacrosse are still separately owned and operated. The partnership only impacts high school teams. All other youth teams, camps, clinics, leagues, and academy programs will continue to be separately owned and operated by StickWithUs/Team Carolina and Team 24/7 Lacrosse, respectively.
